CMSO Announces Its 2019-20 Season!

The Chamber Music Society of Ohio is proud to announce its 24th season!
Only 60 full subscriptions are available. Download the brochure and send completed form and payment before August 31, 2019. Individual ticket availability—if any— will be announced three weeks prior to each event.

1. Romantic Clara

Guest House in Bath*
In honor of her 200th birthday, we celebrate Clara Schumann and her contemporaries, with works by Robert Schumann, Johannes Brahms, and Carl Reinecke, as well as selections from many of Clara’s piano and vocal compositions. CMSO founders George Pope and David Fisher are joined by Eric Charnofsky and Jane Berkner for an evening of beautiful music from the romantic period.
Informal outdoor picnic included.

2. Three’s Company

Sunday, February 16, 2020, 3:30 p.m.
Steinway Piano Gallery
Warm up with lively and varied pieces all written for trios—including the masterpiece L’Histoire du Soldat Suite by Stravinsky for clarinet, violin, and piano; Martinu’s Trio for flute, violin, and piano; and a Doppler showpiece for two flutes and piano. Guest artists Amitai Vardi, clarinet and Kenneth Johnston, violin, join George Pope, Eric Charnofsky, and Jane Berkner.
Buffet and wine included.

3. Celestial Reasonings

Guest House in Bath*
Our season finale is filled with lush and celestial music fitting for our beautiful garden location. Guest artists Jody Guinn, harp and Amber Rogers, viola, join us for the lovely Debussy Sonata for Flute, Viola, and Harp; Nino Rota Sonata for Flute and harp, Berlioz Trio of the Ishmaelites, and Duruflé Prélude, Récitatif et Variations for flute, viola and piano. George Pope, Eric Charnofsky, Jane Berkner, and David Fisher also perform.
Dinner and champagne included.
